Acha Leke
Acha Leke is a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s Johannesburg office, Chairman of McKinsey’s Africa practice, and a member of McKinsey’s Shareholders Council – its global governance board.
He was instrumental in opening McKinsey’s Lagos office in 2010, and led the Firm’s Transformation practice across Africa. He currently leads the Africa Private Equity Practice and the Firm’s Family-Owned Business Practice globally. He is also a member of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) Council.
He works with key public, private, and social sector institutions to accelerate growth and development in Africa and has worked across over 20 African countries to date.
Acha is a co-founder and member of the Global Advisory Council of the African Leadership Academy and co-founder of the African Leadership University and Network, and was also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Africa.
He currently serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Lagos Business School in Nigeria, and as the Inaugural Chair of the Global Council of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art (Zeitz MOCAA, African’s leading contemporary African art museum) in Cape Town. He co-authored McKinsey’s highly acclaimed series of Lions on the Move and Reimagining Economic Growth in Africa reports, the book Africa’s Business Revolution: How to Succeed in the World’s Next Big Growth Market, and the latest report on family business: The Secrets of Outperforming Family Businesses.
Martin Roll
Martin Roll is a Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company, and a global family business and family office expert. He has deep expertise and experience with most types of business family dynamics, multi-generational and next generation challenges, and long-term planning and strategy situations.
He has more than 30 years of Board & C-suite counseling experience with Fortune 500 companies, Asian firms, family-owned businesses, and family offices.
Martin works closely with business families and family offices across the world on strategy, leadership, transformation, stewardship, succession, governance, professionalization, ownership, impact, and other critical topics for long-term, inter-generational success.
He supports business families with their legacy building, including crafting and executing a carefully curated balance between past, present, and future which typically characterizes successful family-owned businesses. He works across multi-generational situations and complex challenges in all types of cultures globally.
Martin also engages in significant academic work through his role as a Distinguished Fellow at INSEAD Business School. He is the editor and host of the INSEAD Family Business Podcast and runs the INSEAD Next Gen Mentoring program for 100+ participants across the world, each year.
He is a highly accomplished keynote speaker at global conferences, an experienced conference moderator, and a board / executive workshop facilitator.
He has two upcoming books due for publication in 2025: Family Business Strategy and Family Office Strategy.
He has lived in Asia for two decades and serves clients globally. He holds an INSEAD MBA.
