Vesla Hoeschen // Chairperson of the Board at Bemis Manufacturing

Vesla is a fourth-generation leader who founded and lead the family council at Bemis Manufacturing for nearly a decade. She served on the Board of Directors for three years before becoming Chair in 2021. She has studied family business best-practices for nearly two decades through the UW-Madison Family Business Center and the Kellogg Center for Family Enterprise. In 2020, she completed the Executive MBA program at the UW-Madison. Vesla lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her two kids and husband of 20 years. She enjoys gardening, running and playing in spreadsheets.

Bemis Manufacturing Company is a global enterprise headquartered in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Bemis is a fourth-generation injection-molding company, serving consumer, commercial, medical and industrial markets. Bemis is the largest toilet seat manufacturer in the world with over 1,600 employees located at six facilities around the globe.


Matt Nielsen // Owner and Executive at Nielsen-Massey Vanillas Inc.

Matt is a third-generation owner and executive for Nielsen-Massey Vanillas Inc., Managing Director of Nielsen-Massey Vanillas International LLC and Managing Director of Nielsen Real Estate BV, among other responsibilities within the company. He is passionate about his family’s businesses, amplifying the longevity of family businesses and mentoring start up entrepreneurs. His operational responsibilities include overseeing the company’s Strategic Initiatives. For 20+ years Matt also had responsibility for the company’s worldwide operations and retail and foodservice sales. 

Matt is a graduate of Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and holds two Certificates of Professional Achievement in Family Business Leadership and Governance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Evanston, Illinois. He lives in Lake Bluff, Illinois with his wife, Amy, and their son, Tyler. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, boating, skiing/snowboarding, riding his motorcycle and cooking, particularly authentic, competition BBQ.
